Flynn Brothers Contracting has been transforming the landscape of Kentucky and Southern Indiana since 1973. It all began when brothers Jesse and John Flynn launched their business with a pickup truck, a single paver, and an unwavering work ethic. From these humble beginnings, Flynn Brothers Contracting built a powerhouse in site and infrastructure contracting, driven by integrity, craftsmanship, and results that speak for themselves.

As momentum grew, the youngest brother, Ed Flynn, joined the effort, helping scale operations and broaden the company’s impact. In 1982, Jim Rice became a partner, bringing a wealth of engineering and construction expertise. His leadership was instrumental in elevating Flynn Brothers Contracting to new heights, allowing the company to take on more ambitious and technically complex projects.

For over five decades, Flynn Brothers Contracting has helped build the roads, campuses, commercial centers, and neighborhoods that define the region. From routine paving to major land development, no project is too small, and no challenge too large.

In 2004, Flynn Brothers became 100% employee-owned, marking a bold step forward in its commitment to shared success, accountability, and long-term investment in people. That ownership mindset continues to drive excellence on every job site.

Today, the company is led by a new generation of employee-owners—many of them longtime team members and second-generation leaders—who carry forward the founding values of quality, honesty, and hard work.
